Igeria & Ngugi Advocates Joins Hands to Support Female Cancer Patients During Breast Cancer Month
October is recognized worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and showing support for those affected by breast cancer. This year, Igeria & Ngugi Advocates had the privilege to participate in a special event at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Nairobi, Kenya, to observe Breast Cancer Month (2023). The event, organized and sponsored in conjunction with the “Wigs and Wings Drive,” was a heartwarming initiative brought to life by a group of hairstylist and hair enthusiasts in Nairobi. We were deeply honored to be a part of this event, which holds a special place in the heart of our partner, Jillian Ndirangu.
Supporting Female Cancer Patients:
Breast cancer affects millions of women globally, and every year, organizations and individuals come together to support those battling this disease. Igeria & Ngugi Advocates recognizes the importance of community involvement and the impact it can have on the lives of those in need. This year, we joined forces with some remarkable individuals and organizations to make a difference.
The “Wigs and Wings Drive”:
The “Wigs and Wings Drive” is an initiative spearheaded by a group of Hair stylists based in Nairobi. They share a dedication for empowering women and boosting their confidence. Prominent names in the Nairobi beauty industry took part in this initiative, offering their support and expertise. They aimed to provide a glimmer of hope and confidence to Female Cancer Patients during their challenging journey.
Our Role in the Event:
At Igeria & Ngugi Advocates, we believe in giving back to the community, and participating in the Female Cancer Patients Glam Visit was a heartwarming experience. Our team joined forces with Wigs and Wings Drive, and other generous contributors to offer our support to these brave women. The event was filled with smile and, laughter as we watched these remarkable patients receive makeovers, including Wigs and accessories, to boost their self-esteem.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is not just a month on the calendar; it’s a global movement aimed at making a positive impact. Igeria & Ngugi Advocates is proud to have participated in the Female Cancer Patients Glam Visit, alongside Wigs and Wings Drive and many other dedicated individuals.
