• Data protection and privacy: provided legal advice to various corporate clients including financial institutions, hospitals, consulting firms, schools, and hospitality firms, on compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act, No. 24 of 2019 and the Regulations made thereunder and registration with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) either as data controllers or data processors or both;
• Advised and assisted an energy company in the negotiations for Power Purchase Agreement from a Solar Farm valued at $45mn
• Advised a collective investment scheme worth Kes 12bn on the structure and the security documents for the projects.
• Defended our client on an arbitration matter worth Kes 118mn, and the corresponding appeal in High Court
• Corporate: advised an education services provider in relation an intended repurchase of shares held by the school’s staff savings and credit cooperative society in the company;
• Successfully prosecuted a defamation suit; our client being awarded the highest amount of damages in the country
• Won a favourable Supreme Court decision on a long-running land dispute matter under Section 163.4.A
• Successfully negotiated on $3mn settlement for specific passengers in the Boeing mishaps of 2019
• Successfully defended the appointment of a regulatory body’s Board of Diectors
• Advised and assisted in the restructuring of Plan International and World Vision’s HR Policy and staff planning
• Defended KenHA on a suit on Access roads to Super-Highways, saving the parastatal almost Kes 2bn in super-highway reconstruction costs and loss of business
• Engaged in Debt recovery for international corps worth over Kes 500mn
